Questions people ask
How far do you travel?
We're based in Berkeley and cover the East Bay — Oakland, Emeryville, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond and the hills. San Francisco and the Peninsula work for bigger events. Anything outside the East Bay adds a travel charge, and it's written into your quote before you commit.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes. A deposit locks your date; without it the date stays open to whoever books next. The balance is due before we load in. The deposit amount and how to pay it are in your quote.
What's included in the price?
Delivery, setup, sound check, running the show and teardown. Your quote lists every piece of gear, the hours on site and who's coming, so there are no surprise add-ons on the night. Extra hours are quoted up front if the party runs long.
Does the venue need power?
For a DJ, sound and lighting we need regular wall outlets on one or two separate circuits, close to where the setup goes. A backyard, a lot or a venue with no reliable power? Add the generator and we bring our own. If you're not sure, pick “Not sure yet” on the form and we'll work it out with you.
How early do you arrive to set up?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes before the start for a DJ-and-lights setup, and longer for a full package with lasers and a generator. We confirm the exact load-in time when we confirm your date, and we need someone there to let us in.
What if we cancel or the date changes?
Tell us as early as you can. Moving to another date is free if we're available. Cancelling in the last few days before the event can mean losing the deposit, because we've already turned down other bookings for that night. The exact terms are in your quote.
